In case you missed it . . . From the High School Lesson Book will be a link-up starting in January!
I'm taking a bit of a break from blogging during the holidays, but I also want to gear up for the new link-up series, so instead of talking about homeschooling specifically, let's get link partying!
As I've said before, it seems like there are a lot fewer homeschool blogs about the high school years, and I realize there are good reasons for that. When our students were little, it was fun to share photos of their cute little art projects or the fun field trips we did every single week, but it isn't quite as fun to report that our teens are slogging away at their algebra or diligently studying their chemistry week after week. Also, teens are a lot more sensitive - and parents should be understanding about this - about what is said and shown about them on the internet. After all, my posts are linked on social media, and my kids are also on social media, and their friends are on social media . . . and I think you know where I'm going with that. I try to be very careful to not embarrass my kids by what I share here. Still, there's a lot that can be shared in our blogs that would be encouraging and informative for other homeschoolers navigating the high school years, and would help us feel like we are part of the tribe. Sometimes you just need to know that there are others out there that have been there, done that, right?
So I invite you - and challenge you - to add your blog to my blog roll, to write about your adventures in homeschooling your high schooler, and definitely to visit and follow the other blogs on the roll. This link-up will be open through 2016, and will also be found on its own page here on Homeschool Coffee Break.
