Diplomas for Homeschool Grads (A Schoolhouse Crew Review)

HomeschoolDiploma.com - A Homeschool Coffee Break review for the Schoolhouse Review Crew @ kympossibleblog.blogspot.com

In just a couple of months, we will be celebrating the graduation of another student from our homeschool. While much of our focus lately is on the schoolwork that has to be completed, we are also making plans for the commencement exercises and party to honor the accomplishment, so I was delighted to be able to review diplomas and other graduation keepsakes from HomeschoolDiploma.com. From the different styles available, we chose for this review the Personalized High School Diploma with 6" x 8" Deluxe Cover.

HomeschoolDiploma.com is a family-owned and operated graduation supply company that specializes in providing high-quality, professionally printed diplomas for homeschool families and small Christian schools. They also offer announcements, invitations, and other stationery, and a range of gifts and keepsakes for grads. Want a class ring for your homeschooled grad? You can choose from several styles offered through HomeschoolDiploma.com, and there are some other jewelry choices as well as keepsakes like photo frames and t-shirts. They also supply caps, gowns, and tassels in a variety of colors.

Let's talk diplomas first! Diplomas and diploma covers are available in several styles with a number of options. This is the Exclusive High School Diploma that is very popular, and has many options for personalization, including a verse or motto and your choice of engraved seal.

The 8.5" x 11" diplomas come in Standard, Personalized, Exclusive, Vintage-Style, and Gilded styles, with an included diploma cover. Standard, Personalized, and Exclusive styles are also offered in the smaller 6" x 8" size. We chose the Personalized High School Diploma with 6" x 8" Deluxe Cover, so that Landon would have a diploma presented to him by his parents that is different from the one that will be given by our homeschool group. Each of the diplomas has a set of options for things like wording, lettering, honors seals, signature line titles, mottos, or Scripture. The diploma covers come in four different colors, and there are some options for those as well.

The Personalized Diploma has the school name arched and shaded at the top, and choices of seals, wording and other details. At first, I wondered whether I would be overwhelmed by all the choices available to me, but the ordering process was actually very simple. Each option is offered step-by-step, with suggestions and clear pictures of each choice. I chose the grad year seal from the five available, one of the four wording options (which I've quoted below), and one of the optional verses (I chose Proverbs 3:5-6 because it has been one of our School Scriptures and one of the first verses Landon memorized). I was able to enter my grad's name and gender, our school name, the graduation date, and add one of the Honors seals. Then I chose from the padded diploma covers, which are available in different styles and colors. Most of the options are included in the price, and any time something is available as an add-on for an additional price, that is stated very clearly, so there were no surprises. For mine, the only additional charge item I chose was the honors designation.

Whereas,
 Our son,
has not only mastered a body of knowledge pursuant to a high school education, but has also demonstrated Godly wisdom and personal maturity based upon faith in Jesus Christ, We, his parents, present him with this
HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA
It is evidence that he has fulfilled all requirements for graduation and is given with confidence that he is equipped, by the grace of God, to meet the challenges of life as an adult.
Here is the Diploma of Graduation that I will be very proud to present to Landon in just a few short weeks! (Note: I have retouched the photo to remove our city name and part of Landon's name. Thanks for understanding!)

Now of course we'll need a way to display our graduation announcement and the senior photos, so I also chose the Graduate Photo Portfolio for this review. It's an 8x10 padded portfolio designed to display an announcement, two wallet size photos, a 5x7 photo, and a tassel. There are three mats included, so that you can choose the one that works best for your announcement and smaller photos - either rectangle opening for the photos, or round. We just had Landon's senior pictures done and I am now ordering the photos so we have yet to make that decision. This portfolio will be Landon's to keep, and it will be displayed at the reception following his graduation and at our grad party, with  the tassel from his cap added as shown in the sample.

I think this one will look great in that frame!

Update - the picture we chose along with the grad announcement!

And speaking of announcements - HomeschoolDiploma.com very kindly included a couple of samples in our package that I am very impressed with. They are very classy! Like the diplomas, the announcements offered come in several styles and with a number of options. I really like the look of the black one, personally, but there are several other styles of traditional announcements you can see at the website.

However, what we want is the less formal photo announcement, and now that I have Landon's photos, I have been trying to decide which design on the Photo Graduation Announcements page would suit best. Spoiler alert: pending Landon's approval, it will be this design with this picture of Landon! I was actually in the process of designing and ordering these at HomeschoolDiploma.com as I was finalizing this review. Seriously! It's so easy, too. Well, making my decision on a design took some time, but uploading the photo I wanted to use and personalizing the text for the announcement - super easy. They even provide over a dozen sample texts to help you out as you word your announcements, whether formal or informal.
