Welcome to Homeschool Highlights!
This weekly link-up is your opportunity to share some highlights of what is happening in your homeschool and in your world each week. If you write a wrap-up post at the end of each week, like I've been doing, we'd love to see what you're busy with from week to week. If you'd like to pick a favorite post from your week that spotlights a resource or activity in your homeschool that you'd like to tell others about, we're interested in those too. I'm keeping the guidelines as simple as I can, and they will appear at the bottom of each post, along with the link tool. I look forward to getting to know you, and I hope this will be a source of encouragement and good ideas for all of us.
Grab a cup of coffee and let's get started!
Homeschool news . . . Well, for us this was one of those weeks when I thought we would get so much done!! But then stuff happened, and it wasn't quite as productive as I'd hoped. Still, Kennady made a lot of progress in Health and History, worked on Math and Science, and did some Music and Art; so she covered pretty much everything.
On Monday evening, I dragged Kennady and Landon to a college fair. They were not particularly thrilled, but at least Kennady warmed up to the experience a little and collected a number of brochures so she could start considering her options. Landon's interest was not piqued by anything, but I suspect his attitude was a bit of a hindrance.
I'd hoped to fit in a short field trip or project for doing some plant and leaf identification this week, but we really did not have the time. Obviously, we'll need to get it done before all the leaves fall off the trees and are too crunchy to save!
Next week we do have a field trip planned - to the National Aquarium in Baltimore! It's been quite a few years since we went last, so we are looking forward to it.

Other news . . . Although we had regular school and work on Monday, it was Thanksgiving. At least it was for those of us with Canadian roots! We decided to postpone our celebration since even our evening was full of other commitments. So we are having friends over this evening and will be enjoying our deep-fried turkey dinner.
On Tuesday evening, I attended a parent information meeting about the trip planned for the Children's Chorus in June. Kennady will be traveling with members of the Chorus to a festival in New Orleans, and the hubster and I are hoping to tag along as well.
Last night the boys went to a Skillet concert with a couple of friends. I've only had a brief report on their evening, but was assured that the concert was great; and clearly they made the trip there and back safely!
What I'm Learning . . . I'm trying to learn how to send email newsletters from my blog, so if that's something you'd be interested in, stay tuned for more information! I hope to find the time to get that completely figured out in the next week or so. Wish me luck!
I recommend . . . checking out the Homeschool Review Crew blog to find out how you can join the Crew for 2017. If you are homeschooling at least one child and you have a blog, you may want to join this friendly group of homeschool bloggers and help us review curriculum and homeschool products! See the post 2017 Crew Applications Now Open! for more info. Or ask me! I'd love to tell you more about it and answer your questions.

yeah!!!! People are joining your link up. WOOT WOOT!!! :)
I always wanted to participate in a wrap up post link up. But, with me working, I'm not sure I have content for that. I live a boring, homeschooling life.
Thanks for starting this! I'm excited to participate. Nice Jams by the way, I almost posted a picture of mine but then decided it wasn't intended to be a Jams link up ;)
We always start out with big plans for the week. Usually, we hit the mark. We just have a rule that if the kids don't finish their work by the end of our day, they do it on the weekend independently, for homework. They work hard for that not to happen, lol!
Barbie - you can link up any homeschool post here - it doesn't need to be a wrap-up!
Deann ~ glad you're here, and thanks for appreciating my Jams. ;-) I usually share some random picture as my "parting shot"
Kym - Congratulations on the new party! Hope you'll head over to our party directory and add yours to it :-)
We'll certainly be seeing you here again - and thanks for stopping by Coffee and Conversation, too!
Busy, busy, busy! You are quite the busy lady and family. I always enjoy reading about what you are up to. - Lori
Happy Canadian Thanksgiving week. I have never tried deep-fried turkey, but I have heard it is very good.
I didn't realize you had more than one blog! Very Cool! Love the nails too, fun!
