Welcome to Homeschool Highlights!
This weekly link-up is your opportunity to share some highlights of what is happening in your homeschool and in your world each week. If you write a wrap-up post at the end of each week, like I've been doing, we'd love to see what you're busy with from week to week. If you'd like to pick a favorite post from your week that spotlights a resource or activity in your homeschool that you'd like to tell others about, we're interested in those too. I'm keeping the guidelines as simple as I can, and they will appear at the bottom of each post, along with the link tool. I look forward to getting to know you, and I hope this will be a source of encouragement and good ideas for all of us.
Homeschool news . . . Thanks to the break from co-op classes this week, the overall homework load was a little lighter, so school was pretty low-key. Kennady had two longer creative writing assignments to work on, but no extra homework for her other classes. We've also been working a little bit on a vocabulary builder from Critical Thinking Co. for an upcoming review.
Other news . . . Friday night was Kennady's regular poker night with what I've started calling the Co-op Crew. Gave me a chance to sit and chill at a Starbucks for a little while, which is a break I often appreciate!
On Saturday morning, I took her to the final rehearsal for the Children's Chorus concert, and I ran a few errands while she was there. After I picked her up we did a little shopping, picked up some lunch and then went for a walk around the Farm Museum before meeting a couple of her friends for a short visit.

In the evening there was a fundraiser dinner at church, and Kennady provided some special music for that.
We switched up Kennady's work days this week, as she had her final session with the driving instructor scheduled for Tuesday lunchtime. While she was driving, I met a friend for lunch and a shopping trip. Then Kennady worked on Wednesday morning instead. And on Wednesday evening, we all helped out at our church's big Easter outreach event, the Easter Eggstravaganza. It's a big Easter Egg hunt, with a lot of activities for kids, and we typically get a huge turnout of families from all over the area. We also have a display of Peeps art, inspired by the Peep Show in Westminster (more about that in a moment). Here are a couple of the creations featured this year:

What I Loved This Week . . .
I absolutely loved Kennady's concert on Sunday. This was her last regular performance with the Children's Chorus or Carroll County and it was tremendous. I only wish I'd been able to get pictures of her with her directors. There is one more chance, as a group from the Chorus will be part of the Bach in Baltimore festival, so she does have that concert.
I also loved that her dad and several friends were able to make it to this concert.
