Our homeschool group held its 2019 commencement exercises just over a week ago. Kennady is now a high school graduate! And I guess I'm a semi-retired homeschool mom? Anyway, here a a whole lot of photos of the big event!
Preparations included rehearsing the music a couple weeks beforehand . . .
and putting together a photo display. Thankfully Kennady looked after making the display herself!
She also personalized her mortarboard.
We put together a collection of photos to be shown in a slideshow during the ceremony. Not all of these made it into that slideshow, but since I have a collection of "First Day of School" photos of each of the kids, it's fun to take a look back at them when they graduate.
And a collection of senior portraits were taken back in February.

On the day of graduation, we have to arrive about an hour ahead of time. The photographer gets most of the portraits and group photos done then.

During the ceremony, we include a time of worship, usually led by the grads. This year it was a small group leading, including Kennady on guitar and vocals.

The emcee for the evening was the young man that taught the Public Speaking and Business classes Kennady took at the co-op. He was also the emcee three years ago when Landon graduated.

The grads toss their caps, and after the recessional, there's an opportunity to take some family photos.

There's a light refreshments reception afterwards, and each of the grads has another photo and awards display of some kind.

Of course that same photo display made its appearance at Kennady's grad party on Saturday too.
As did a cake to match the background of her mortarboard.
Congratulations to the Class of 2019!

This looks absolutely fantastic. I don't know you beyond your blog and the Crew but I am tearing up seeing your daughter growing through those pictures.
Congratulations on graduating your daughter. I have been lurking about the last year, now that I'm not homeschooling anymore. Well done mama!
Oh, very nicely done. :) Congrats eh!
So lovely!
