Welcome to Homeschool Highlights!
This weekly link-up is your opportunity to share some highlights of what is happening in your homeschool and in your world each week. If you write a wrap-up post at the end of each week, like I've been doing, we'd love to see what you're busy with from week to week. If you'd like to pick a favorite post from your week that spotlights a resource or activity in your homeschool that you'd like to tell others about, we're interested in those too. I'm keeping the guidelines as simple as I can, and they will appear at the bottom of each post, along with the link tool. I look forward to getting to know you, and I hope this will be a source of encouragement and good ideas for all of us.
Grab a cup of coffee and let's get started!
On Saturday, Kennady spent the afternoon at her friend's, and after dropping her off I picked up the new smoker/grill we'd ordered and did some other shopping. We've been wanting a new grill for a long time. Sunday was also a fairly quiet day, but the boys and their friends got back from Creation and we did a little catching up with them. In the evening, the hubster and I took Kennady and her friend down the Frederick, where we walked along Carroll Creek park and got ice cream.

Monday morning it was back to work, but as it was also Canada Day, we flew the Canadian flag at work instead of the American flag!

On Tuesday after Kennady and I were finished work, I took her to the college so she could finish the process of getting enrolled in the one class she needs to take online during summer semester. She still needs to get a couple of fall classes scheduled, but at least we looked after the summer one. In the evening, I took her out to purchase the laptop she'll use for college.
We celebrated Independence Day with a lazy day at home and the fireworks display at Baker Park in Frederick.
Oh yeah, and we also celebrated Kennady's eighteenth birthday! She had a few friends over during the afternoon and evening, so it was a rather low-key party. I think there's likely going to be another gathering sometime next week to honor her birthday!

Just A Second is where I share book reviews and other book-related things, and update on what's on my bookshelf. This week I finished and reviewed The Red Door Inn (Prince Edward Island Dreams Book 1): A Novel by Liz Johnson, and I've been reading:
An Artless Demise (A Lady Darby Mystery) by Anna Lee Huber
A Caribbean Mystery: A Miss Marple Mystery by Agatha Christie

A parting shot . . . when I was taking this shot . . .

What a fun week! Happy Belated Birthday to your daughter.
I love that last shot!
Destiny - thank you! I wish I'd had time to get it centered better so I didn't cut his head off, but it was just a momentary opportunity! ;-)
Sounds like a very pleasant week!
