I just realized this was actually Week Eight, but I'd already made the graphic so . . . oops.
Welcome to Homeschool Highlights!
This weekly link-up is your opportunity to share some highlights of what is happening in your homeschool and in your world each week. If you write a wrap-up post at the end of each week, like I've been doing, we'd love to see what you're busy with from week to week. If you'd like to pick a favorite post from your week that spotlights a resource or activity in your homeschool that you'd like to tell others about, we're interested in those too. I'm keeping the guidelines as simple as I can, and they will appear at the bottom of each post, along with the link tool. I look forward to getting to know you, and I hope this will be a source of encouragement and good ideas for all of us.
If you would be interested in taking over this link-up, please let me know! I've loved hosting you, but because my youngest has graduated and my schedule is changing, I would love to pass the baton to someone else.

Grab a cup of coffee and let's get started!
New mug I got on Saturday. I figured I always need Jesus and coffee. Perhaps this week more than usual?
This week's news . . . On Saturday our family was going in several different directions again, but we all had a great day. The boys left early in the morning for an overnight campout with friends, and the hubster and I left about the same time to attend a worship conference with some of the other worship team people from church. Kennady got to sleep in and have the house to herself in the morning, and attended a wedding in the afternoon as she was providing the music. She and her date stayed at the reception for a bit, and then spent the rest of the evening with his family.
The worship conference, by the way, was very good, and we all enjoyed the featured speakers. However, none of us got anything really new from the breakout sessions we attended. A few good tidbits here and there, but the value for us was spending the day together (team building!) and the keynote speakers and worship time.
Sunday and Monday were pretty much the usual - church, relax, hockey, work and school, all the auxiliary family here for Monday dinner. On Tuesday afternoon, I got a call from Kennady - she had been on her way from college to pick up Meaghan from work . . . and was rear-ended. Thankfully, not going very fast since it was heavy traffic and raining hard, and no one was hurt. The other driver was very apologetic and cooperative, and made sure Kennady was okay. Despite the thoroughly dented rear door, our car remained driveable, so Kennady was able to carry on and come home.

We weren't comfortable having her drive the car by herself on Wednesday though, just in case there happened to be some structural damage we couldn't see, so I drove her to college and then finished making all the phone calls to get the ball rolling on getting an estimate and repairs. Turned out Kennady wasn't feeling well - due to a cold, not to any injuries from the accident - so she didn't stay for her late day class on Wednesday anyway.
On Thursday Kennady and I went to co-op and to college as usual, and I took the car to get an estimate afterwards. It's booked for the body work next week, so I guess we'll be taking a rental car to Trunk or Treat!
Kennady spent Thursday evening with friends, and I met with a couple of "Retired Homeschool Mom" friends as well.
What I'm Highlighting . . .
Something sort of bittersweet - this week I posted my final review for the Homeschool Review Crew. You can see it here: Creating A Masterpiece ~Drawing Lessons~ I'm so glad my last review turned out to be something that I used as much as Kennady did, and such a delight. I wrote my first Crew review back in September of 2011, and we've been able to try out so many wonderful products since then. I can't think how I would have homeschooled without the Crew! It's not just the curriculum and products either. Through the Crew I've become a better writer and blogger, and perhaps most importantly to me, I've gained many wonderful friends. The Crew is not just a blogging and reviewing group, but a supportive circle of friends. As I 'retire' from homeschooling and from doing those reviews, I plan to stay in touch with many of the friends I've made over the years.
Having said all that, I'd like to invite you to consider joining the Homeschool Review Crew! If you homeschool and have a blog, consider applying for the 2020 season! You can find out more here: The Old Schoolhouse Magazine is Recruiting Homeschool Bloggers. Please ask me if you have any questions!
And one more highlight, also related to the Homeschool Review Crew - the October 2019 Homeschool Collection appears on the Homeschool Review Crew blog today. You'll find a wide variety of homeschool articles by the Crew members.

Homeschool Highlights guidelines:
- Your blog should be family-friendly content, and your post should include something about homeschooling. If I don't see homeschooling in it, I might have to delete the link, and I feel bad when I need to do that.
- Please link directly to your post, not your blog's homepage.
- Please include a link in your post to Homeschool Coffee Break - you may use the graphic above if you wish.
- Visit a couple of the other bloggers and comment or share.

Loving the fall foliage!
I am so sorry to hear that you had "car trouble" again! It seems like you guys just can not catch a break. So thankful no one was hurt and it seems like an "easy" fix.

I love comments! It's like visiting over a virtual cup of coffee.
