One word. Five minutes to write about it. This is the idea behind Five Minute Friday and this is today's free-writing post.
Make measurable progress in reasonable time. ~Jim Rohn

I seldom notice progress when it's slow. At least my own progress. I think it's often easier to see change and growth in others.
So maybe that's why I like checklists or other things that can visually represent that something happened. It's encouraging to be able to check something off the list, even if it's just that I worked on something but it's not complete yet. My lesson planning isn't complete, but I worked on it so it's closer to being ready for the start of school. I haven't reached a goal weight, but I'm moving in the right direction and I've been doing the daily actions that will help me accomplish the goal. I haven't finished cleaning and redecorating the house (will that EVER be finished?), but I did get rid of a couple boxes of things we don't need, spent some time cleaning and organizing, and measured and started shopping for new window treatments. Or whatever the things are that I'm working on. I'm working on them. Could I work harder and make more significant progress? In most cases, yes, I sure could. And probably should. But small steps of progress are better than none, and seeing that there is progress can help motivate me to do more, and to keep at it.
True progress quietly and persistently moves along without notice. ~ Saint Francis of Assisi
Never discourage any man who continually makes progress, no matter how slow. ~Plato

Kym, I am not a list person per se but I have a constant tally in my brain, which motivates me. Thanks for visiting HopeHeartHome this morning.
Slow and steady, I am definatley a tortoise and not a hare 😊 fmf #7
it's good when you can see progress, whether in leaps and bounds or as incremental steps. I like seeing both to be honest FMF19
I am a big lover of checklists, too.
But baby steps are best!
Love this post. It totally resonates with me. I'm also a list person, and learning to focus on the small things I am doing, instead of stressing over all the things I haven't.
