Some of the things around the web that I've been reading or exploring during recent coffee breaks:
- I feel bad starting off my list with a bit of a negative article, but I found this one pretty impactful, as we here in the USA are continuing to hear mixed messages - and see mixed reactions - about face masks, lockdowns, and the like. Take the time to read and consider this from Evie Magazine: Psychiatrist: Americans Are Suffering From 'Mass Delusional Psychosis' Because of Covid-19.
- Find yourself getting into debates about masks or politics or whatever? I think we all have a tendency to play the "oh yeah, well what about this?" game. The Gospel Coalition's Brett McCracken called me - and all of us! - out a little with this article. Whataboutism is a Mark of Foolishness
- Big Tech censorship is one of those hot topics lately. It's real and it's not okay. Sharyl Attkisson offers advice on 14 things you can do about Big Tech censorship now
- Okay, time for a bright spot! This article at Understood highlights Amanda Gorman, the lovely young lady named Youth Poet Laureate: Amanda Gorman, Youth Poet Laureate, has speech and auditory processing issues.
- A brief word of wisdom that was shared by Joanne Viola in the Scripture and a Snapshot link-up I host on Just A Second: Read the Rests.
Some fun things I've found during coffee breaks:
- I can't quite remember how I came across this, but do you celebrate your Name Day? You can find out when it is, and more about this custom at American Name Day Calendar.
- I don't realistically expect to find much good to say about the new regime in Washington, so that's a drag. But I saw the possibility of a lot of good humorous memes starring China Joe, so I was looking forward to that. I did not see the abundance of Bernie's Mittens memes though, and I have to tell ya, they are everything right now. Here are a few favorites:
What I've been reading during longer coffee breaks:
The Little Book of Hygge by Meik Wiking
Messiah: Biblical Retellings by C.A. Gray
Timeless Treasure by MaryLu Tyndall
A Pretty Deceit by Anna Lee Huber

I have been loving all the Bernie memes too and am amazed at how many are circulating!
The Bernie in mittens memes were the highlight of the inauguration.
