Time for another "Currently" link-up with Anne in Residence. Anne posts five action verb prompts for the month and writers respond. Personally, I'm a little surprised to find that we're about a week into October already. September held some interesting experiences, and although I'm always a little sad to see the end of summer, I do love autumn. Rather like that quote from Anne of Green Gables:
I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.
So here we are with what's happening currently . . . in October.

borrowing books from the library, I suppose. I can't think of anything else I'm borrowing right now, but a few weeks ago we had to borrow commercial fans and a dehumidifier in order to dry out our flooded basement. And we were very glad we had connections so that we could do that!
buying birthday gifts (quite a few family birthdays coming up soon!), housewarming gifts, and so many groceries!
planning how to redo our basement. After it was flooded at the beginning of September, we had to clear almost all the stuff out, tear out all the carpet, and remove the paneling and drywall. So we went from having a bedroom and a family room (although it had become a storage space leading up to the kids moving out) down there to having a bare cement floor and mostly unfinished space. Spencer moved into the upstairs bedroom last week, when Landon and Meaghan moved into their new place, so we don't need to reinvent a bedroom downstairs. We're still figuring out the details, but we think we can do a home office type room that can function as a spare room when needed, and a new family room. We're having the drywall done soon, and then as time and budget allows, we'll be painting and adding area rugs and whatever furniture is needed.
minus drywall, but before furniture was removed |

Enjoy your Canadian Thanksgiving!
Yay for Canadian Thanksgiving!!! We're having our "big feast" (hahaha!) on Sunday. I'm laughing because it's not all that big :)
I am buying a lot of gifts...mostly for Christmas at this point!
