You might or might not remember (or care!) that at the end of October we had just arrived in Georgia for a short vacation. So that is where we started November! November 1st was a beautiful sunny day, and our walk took us right up close to a cotton field. Having seen cotton growing only from a distance before, it was interesting to get a closer look - and a few photos.
We enjoyed the hospitality of our friends so very much, and it was hard to say goodbye. Hopefully we'll be able to get together again soon!
We returned home very briefly, just long enough to return the rental car and pick ours up, and do a few necessary errands at home before heading out again. Oh, and we found the Minion!
The end of our vacation week was spent in Niagara Falls, New York. We took an afternoon to visit a Frank Lloyd Wright house in Buffalo.
There are actually three houses that are part of this estate. The smallest, the gardener's cottage, was my favorite.
Of course we visited the falls. No matter how many times we've seen them, it is awe-inspiring every time!
Back home, I went with my daughters to a paint day at church. We were very happy with our creations!
Kennady's was on display immediately at home.
Kennady was able to attend a Diwali celebration with a group of classmates. She's been taking a class learning about Indian history and culture through Bollywood movies!
Found the Minion again!
We'd originally planned to visit our son in Columbus for Thanksgiving, but it worked out better for them to come here. That meant quickly prepping the one basement room for use as an impromptu guest room. Landon and a buddy sanded the drywall, and then Landon and Spencer put together the electric fireplace heater I'd purchased for the room. How fun to see them working together!
The weekend was a whirlwind of activity - and our granddaughter is a whirlwind of energy! I didn't take many pictures, and in a way I'm disappointed. Especially that I didn't get the traditional Thanksgiving meal photo or a family photo when we were all together. Hopefully at Christmas!
See what I mean about being a whirlwind?
We had quite a spread of baked goods, but this is the only photo I took of any of our Thanksgiving feast.
This was the sunrise as I was driving to work Monday morning. Not quite the end of the month, but I will close this photo summary of the month with this reminder of God's artistry.
