Homeschool Coffee Break: Homeschool Weekly: Full Schedule Edition

In our homeschool... So the plan was for us to start our full schedule of courses this week. But that was before we realized that Landon would be working four mornings a week at his seasonal job. He certainly has his plate full right now, with working and studying, especially since he has two courses he is working on for reviews! I adjusted things a little bit, so that he has a little breathing room.

Landon has managed to stay pretty much on track with the Notgrass World History course, which is probably the most important right now. He has been working on Algebra, but not at the same pace, which is fine. I've recommended putting off Grammar and Drafting until the work season is over, and I don't think that will present any problems in the long run. What we've added is an essay writing course - he's completed his first writing assignment for that, so hopefully we won't fall behind! - and we are just getting started with an online Nutrition course.

Kennady is doing well with all her courses, but didn't get everything done that we were hoping for this week. Getting started on time in the morning is a challenge, and the schedule we had agreed on doesn't quite work when I have to go pick Landon up from work before lunch. I'm especially pleased with how well she is doing in Math so far, and that she isn't complaining about having to do it!

We missed the first week of gym class while we were on vacation last week, but the kids were happy to go this week. Kennady started back to choir this week as well.

In other news... our vacation last week was great, and we all enjoyed the break. I posted a number of pictures in A Massanutten PhotoJournal. We had a lovely place to stay, and the weather was wonderful.

Kennady jumped right back into softball as soon as we got back from vacation, with practices on Sunday and Monday. Thursday night's practice was cancelled because many of the girls were sick. Not sure what is up with that, but I'm glad Kennady didn't get whatever was going around!

At church, we had kickoff for the midweek activities on Wednesday, so we were all involved with that.

Yesterday evening we had family movie night for the first time in ages, and watched Captain America - The Winter Soldier.

One of my favorite things this week... getting a new book to read, and then finding out that I won another book on a blog giveaway! I'm on a roll! LOL
