Something I have been doing for a number of years is choosing a School Scripture, sort of a theme for our homeschool year. It serves as a reminder to me of what is most important in our efforts to educate at home - and it's more than just academics. Having a Scripture to focus on helps me remember the most important purpose of homeschooling is the discipleship of our children.

Here's the Scripture I've chosen for the 2015-2016 school year:

Commit to the LORD whatever you do,
and He will establish your plans.
~Proverbs 16:3~

We still have a lot of variables in play for the next school year, so we are making plans knowing that some of them may need to change. Landon wants to graduate this year - which will be a year early - so we've made plans for him to get enough credits to do that; but those plans may change. I am hoping to find a part-time job that will work with our schedule, but I realize that may force us to change some of our plans too. We do our best to make plans, but we have to put our plans in God's hands, and trust him to establish the outcomes.

Here are the School Scriptures I've used in previous years:

These are great! We have kept the same admonition from St. Francis deSales since we began -- "Do not look forward in fear."

I love the idea of a theme scripture for the year. I may have to borrow this idea. All of them you have used in the past are so wonderful!
