In our homeschool . . . we did our best to get things caught up to where they should be, but it was an uphill battle this week! Kennady was sick; I had to be out pretty much every day; and thanks to a few extra things on the schedule for both Landon and Kennady, everything was pretty disjointed. I made a couple of adjustments to Kennady's course schedule, because she really did have too much on her plate. And now that we've added some review items to her line-up, I don't want her to fall even further behind. Fortunately, except for the Math Mini-course she is working on, the other review items are sort of extra-curricular.
Landon will have to keep working hard to get all his schoolwork completed, which means a part-time job isn't really an option for him until after graduation. Which is coming up quickly! He had his senior pictures done on Thursday, so I'll be ordering grad announcements soon, and we'll need to nail down a date for his grad party and that sort of thing.
What's new . . . all these cool things we're reviewing! Check it out:

Book and Unit Study - Heroes of History: Orville Wright from YWAM Publishers

In other news . . . well, as I mentioned last week, the kids did deliver the "Easter baskets" last Saturday afternoon. About 85 families received a basketful of cleaning supplies and some Easter candy.
Of course, on Sunday morning we were at church for services. The hubster and I were on the worship team, and Kennady did some live art during one of the songs, which I thought turned out very well. She actually wasn't feeling well, and even got a little woozy towards the end, so she was just glad to get through it! After church, we were invited to enjoy Easter dinner with friends, which was a wonderful treat.
I recommend . . . I'm just gonna leave this here again today: The 5 Days of Tips for Homeschool Parents Blog Hop hosted by the Schoolhouse Review Crew. I spent all week reading all the great bits of advice shared by the Crew bloggers, and I am still reading! There's a lot of useful and encouraging posts, so keep reading and bookmarking! My series is A Cup of Coffee and a Word of Advice, and each of my posts has a set of links to other participating bloggers.
Saturday evening we had friends over for dinner, and afterwards we allowed their little boys to play with - and eventually destroy - the Peeps hockey diorama! Lots of laughs and fun!
the aftermath. LOL |

Then starting on Monday, things got crazy! Kennady wasn't feeling well at all on Monday, so I canceled her guitar lesson. She did rally a bit in the evening and went with me to run some errands - which resulted in me buying her a DRESS that she can wear to the Junior Senior Banquet. Unfortunately, she has been stuffy and not quite healthy the rest of the week, some days better than others. Functional - just not great.
I feel like I spent every day running around to various appointments and things. I had a brunch date with a friend, prayer meeting, did shopping and errands, took Landon to get his pictures done, went to a grad music practice, and took the kids to their eye appointments so both could get new glasses. Honestly, I'm glad I don't have much to do today, other than a trip to the grocery at some point.
