Spring is definitely a busy season for most of us, as we get into the final quarter of the school year and the warmer weather means more opportunities (and obligations!) to do things outside. In our family, we're no longer busy with organized sports, so I don't have to get kids to softball or baseball games, but we do have plenty on the calendar. Concerts, field trips, and many fun outings are planned. And yes, as the official end of the school year is in sight, there is an extra push to get schoolwork completed. Especially this year, with Landon graduating!
With all that we have on the calendar already, I was surprised to realize how many Crew reviews we're also working on! Fortunately, as I look down the list, I see a good balance of products that are challenging and educational as well as enjoyable! I'll be sharing a review every week through the middle of May - here's a preview of what we're working on!
HomeschoolDiploma.com - Coming during the week of April 11th
We received a beautiful personalized diploma that I'll be able to present to Landon, and I also chose a very classy Senior Portrait photo frame. We've also been looking at the samples of grad announcements and invitations, and since I just had Landon's senior portraits done, I guess I'll be ordering his personalized announcements soon! HomeschoolDiploma.com also has caps and gowns, class rings, and a selection of gifts and keepsakes for grads.
Math Mini-Courses from A+ Interactive Math - Coming during the week of April 18th
A+ Interactive Math has just introduced these mini-courses that offer review and practice in specific subject areas to help fill in any gaps that students may have. Kennady is using a couple of these courses to reinforce some of her skills. Part of me was reluctant to add to her schoolday, but I figured it would be worth it to give her some added confidence in the subject that is the biggest challenge for her.
YWAM Publishing - Coming during the week of April 25th
Kwik Stix from The Pencil Grip, Inc. - Coming during the week of May 2nd
Institute for Excellence in Writing - Coming during the week of May 16th

YWAM Publishing - Coming during the week of April 25th
Kennady enjoyed reading about one of her favorite authors, C.S. Lewis, during a previous review (which you can find here: C.S. Lewis: Master Storyteller - Christian Heroes, Then And Now) so we were glad to study another biography when YWAM Publishing returned this year. This time, Kennady chose Orville Wright from the Heroes of History series.
Kwik Stix from The Pencil Grip, Inc. - Coming during the week of May 2nd
Kwik Stix are paints, but they work like markers, and dry very quickly. So these are pure fun for Kennady, and would be fun for kids of all ages.
Sculpture Technique Model from ARTistic Pursuits - Coming during the week of May 9th
This is another favorite vendor here at Homeschool Coffee Break, and for the Schoolhouse Crew in general! We've been blessed to review two books from ARTistic Pursuits in the past (See those reviews here: ARTistic Pursuits, Middle School Book Two and ARTistic Pursuits Sculpture Technique), so we're looking forward to what we'll create this time. The book arrived in the mail just recently, we've got some of our supplies ready, and I think the rest of the supplies we ordered should arrive today. I'm hoping to work on this one too, because we're going to try wool felting first!
Institute for Excellence in Writing - Coming during the week of May 16th
That's right - another return favorite vendor! In our previous reviews of IEW, we've looked at the Student Writing Intensives and Fix-It! Grammar (See our reviews here: June 2015 and July 2013). This time, we'll be doing something quite different. The product we're reviewing is called Linguistic Development through Poetry Memorization. Andrew Pudewa is going to help us memorize poetry! This one hasn't arrived at our house yet, but I did receive an email telling me it's on its way!
I hope you'll join me each week for those coffee breaks, and for my weekly Virtual Refrigerator and From the High School Lesson book features and link parties. I've also been participating in Blogging Through the Alphabet, and we're nearing the end of the alphabet, with only those last few (challenging!) letters to go. I'm looking forward to visiting with you over a virtual cup of coffee any time you'd like to stop by.
