A Homeschool Coffee Break May/June Preview on Homeschool Coffee Break @ kympossibleblog.blogspot.com - These are the curriculum and resource reviews we're working on for the coming weeks.

It's the beginning of a new month, and it's nearing the end of the school year, so we have a lot going on here! In our homeschool, the kids have plenty of schoolwork to finish up, and we also have quite a few Crew reviews we're working on as well. Here's this month's preview of what we're working on!

Kwik Stix - A Homeschool Coffee Break May/June Preview on Homeschool Coffee Break @ kympossibleblog.blogspot.com - These are the curriculum and resource reviews we're working on for the coming weeks.

Kwik Stix are paints that work like markers, drying very quickly. I love having something to review that is just so much fun!

Sculpture Technique Model from ARTistic Pursuits - Coming during the week of May 9th

This is proving to be much more effort, but Kennady and I are giving wool felting a try! Hopefully we'll have a finished project ready to share in the review next week. We've been blessed to review two books from ARTistic Pursuits in the past (See those reviews here: ARTistic Pursuits, Middle School Book Two and ARTistic Pursuits Sculpture Technique).

Institute for Excellence in Writing - Coming during the week of May 16th

Linguistic Development through Poetry Memorization IEW Review - A Homeschool Coffee Break May/June Preview on Homeschool Coffee Break @ kympossibleblog.blogspot.com - These are the curriculum and resource reviews we're working on for the coming weeks.

Our previous reviews of IEW have focused on the written word - the Student Writing Intensives and Fix-It! Grammar (See our reviews here: June 2015 and July 2013). This time, we're trying out the new Linguistic Development through Poetry Memorization set, which focused on the spoken word, and memorizing. And it is fun!

Then we'll have a bit of a break before our next reviews are due, which works out nicely because Landon's graduation falls during the first week of June.

The Glass Castle, a book from Shiloh Run Press - Coming during the week of June 6th.

The Glass Castle - A Homeschool Coffee Break May/June Preview on Homeschool Coffee Break @ kympossibleblog.blogspot.com - These are the curriculum and resource reviews we're working on for the coming weeks.

This is a fantasy novel for young people by Trisha White-Priebe and Jerry B. Jenkins. Some leisure reading for Kennady! We're looking forward to receiving this in the next week or so.

The Scarlet Pimpernel literature study from Progeny Press - Coming during the week of June 13th.

Progeny Press - A Homeschool Coffee Break May/June Preview on Homeschool Coffee Break @ kympossibleblog.blogspot.com - These are the curriculum and resource reviews we're working on for the coming weeks.

I love the story of The Scarlet Pimpernel, and Kennady was intrigued by it, so we are going to try reading and studying it together using the Progeny Press literature guide. I've got the study guide ready to go, so we'll be getting to work on it this week. We've reviewed a couple of Progeny Press guides in the past - see our reviews of Treasure Island and The Cay.

Of course, every week I'll be co-hosting the Virtual Refrigerator, and I encourage you to share posts about the artwork you or your students are working on. I also have a weekly feature called From the High School Lesson Book, which is also a link party for posts about homeschooling through high school. There are Schoolhouse Review Crew round-ups scheduled as well, and I look forward to sharing in a couple of those, as well as in weekly wrap-up posts and other fun things. I hope you'll join me for these coffee breaks!

The kwiki stixs look really cool! Can you mix colors like liquid paint?

Kennady tried blending colors, and because it dries so quickly, that didn't work, so mixing colors wouldn't work either. Unless you paint one color over another immediately, I guess then you could do a little bit. :-)

We are loving our current reviews. Kathryne discovered that she loves wool felting, and she's made many samples for me to take pictures of. :-)

I've had in my head to do a high school post for a couple of weeks now, just haven't been able to get to it. Hopefully it will come soon!
