Welcome to Homeschool Highlights!
This weekly link-up is your opportunity to share some highlights of what is happening in your homeschool and in your world each week. If you write a wrap-up post at the end of each week, like I've been doing, we'd love to see what you're busy with from week to week. If you'd like to pick a favorite post from your week that spotlights a resource or activity in your homeschool that you'd like to tell others about, we're interested in those too. I'm keeping the guidelines as simple as I can, and they will appear at the bottom of each post, along with the link tool. I look forward to getting to know you, and I hope this will be a source of encouragement and good ideas for all of us.
This week I've been participating in the 5 Days of Back to Homeschool Blog Hop with other Homeschool Review Crew members, so my Homeschool Highlights will be a quicker than usual summary of our week. I'd love to have you link up your highlights and I'll come by for a visit just as soon as I can!
Homeschool news . . . another work week for Kennady, and a short week since we're spending time with family this weekend, so we didn't worry too much about getting schoolwork done. I worked on getting lesson plans updated in the Homeschool Tracker and we should be ready to rock and roll soon!
Other news . . . We had a quiet weekend and not too many activities going on during the week either. Kennady came along with me on Monday night for our first Encouragement Group of the year. I met with some other homeschool moms for a visit, and Kennady hung out with friends for a bit as well.
I attended the annual Reviewers Brunch hosted by our homeschool group. This is where those of us that supervise families in our oversight group get together for our back to school meeting, and is always a fun chance to catch up with some friends that I don't see often any more.

I recommend . . . taking advantage of the Early Bird Back to Homeschool Event pricing at SchoolhouseTeachers.com until the end of August! Their huge library of curriculum and resources is being offered with special savings. Use the code HOT2017 before August 31, 2017 to get the special pricing, a free tote and the big print magazine.
On my blogs last week . . .

Just A Second is where I share book reviews and other book-related things, and update on what's on my bookshelf. This week I finished and reviewed Barbara and Susan's Guide to the Empty Nest by Barbara Rainey and Susan Yates, and I've been reading:

The Captive Maiden by Melanie Dickerson

Sounds like you had a lovely peaceful week! Love the flowers!
An Encouragement Group sounds neat! Tell us more about it sometime please? Love the Black-eyed Susans, we have them in my front yard and they are a favorite part of summer.
