Welcome to Homeschool Highlights!
This weekly link-up is your opportunity to share some highlights of what is happening in your homeschool and in your world each week. If you write a wrap-up post at the end of each week, like I've been doing, we'd love to see what you're busy with from week to week. If you'd like to pick a favorite post from your week that spotlights a resource or activity in your homeschool that you'd like to tell others about, we're interested in those too. I'm keeping the guidelines as simple as I can, and they will appear at the bottom of each post, along with the link tool. I look forward to getting to know you, and I hope this will be a source of encouragement and good ideas for all of us.
Homeschool news . . . Somehow I think Kennady managed to get all the homework done for the week! I haven't checked, but I bet she didn't get Math done. Whatever. It WILL get done!
It feels like we crammed a lot into the week. One important item we managed to squeeze in was the grad planning meeting on Thursday. We made decisions on most of the participants in the ceremony (who would offer opening and closing prayers, who would be emcee, etc) and on the venue for the ceremony. We narrowed down the options for the music too. Of course there were some decisions we were very happy with and others that we wish had gone a different way and are very disappointed about, to say the least. And this whole business of watching your baby graduate is not for the faint of heart sometimes!

Other news . . . snow on Friday meant that March came in a bit like a lion. Not a loud or vicious lion in the form of storms, but driving conditions were not great. On Saturday the hubster and I both worked, and as soon as I got home I had to run Kennady to town to play cards with her co-op friends. Other than that, it was a fairly quiet weekend. But with more snow on Sunday!
On Monday evening, a friend and her daughter came over for a bit to talk wedding plans. As in, Kennady will be doing the music for the daughter's wedding this fall! She'll be playing prelude and postlude, the processional and recessional, and they've asked for one of her original songs for a special.
With such a busy week, and still having a ton left on my to-do list, I'm going to keep this highlights post just a tiny bit shorter than usual.
What's Coming Up . . . Our reviews coming up include:
The newest in the Drive Thru History series - Acts to Revelation - look for Crew reviews in the middle of March!
Fix It! Grammar from IEW - Crew reviews of all the books in this series are scheduled for the beginning of April.
Transcripts Made Easy: The Homeschooler's Guide to High School Paperwork by Janice Campbell - Look for this Crew review in mid-April.

I was going to share the video of Kennady performing the song, but since I've had material from this blog copied and published elsewhere without my permission, in violation of my copyright, I'm not willing to risk her music. If you'd like to hear her music, please contact me privately or leave a comment. I'd love to show off her talent but can't take the chance! Thanks for understanding!
Wednesday evening we had an Ash Wednesday service, and Kennady and Landon both played on the worship team for that. We followed the service with our team's practice for Sunday, and still made it home at a pretty good time so Kennady and I could do some preparation for co-op.
My kitchen and dining room look better as we've begun reassembling after finishing the painting. But overall, things are still quite chaotic. I feel like I haven't been home long enough to tackle some of the jobs that need doing.

On my blogs last week . . .
Here on Homeschool Coffee Break:
Virtual Refrigerator - March 2019
How Do You Do Phys.Ed.?
Victus Study Skills - A System for Effective Study
And on my book blog, Just A Second:
What I'm Reading - March 4, 2019
Scripture and a Snapshot - I Remain Confident
Just A Second is where I share book reviews and other book-related things, and update on what's on my bookshelf. This week I've been reading:
The Blue Castle by L.M. Montgomery
The White City: True Colors: Historical Stories of American Crime by Grace Hitchcock
A parting shot . . . A couple of the snapshots that we are including in the slideshow for grad. When we were at Disney this past fall, Kennady made sure to get a photo posing in front of the Aerosmith Rockin' Roller Coaster.
We both remembered this picture from a much earlier trip to Disney and the iconic pose:
Oh my word, is she not the cutest thing?! So much sass and attitude! How is she old enough to graduate though?

Homeschool Highlights guidelines:
- Your blog should be family-friendly content, and your post should include something about homeschooling. If I don't see homeschooling in it, I might have to delete the link, and I feel bad when I need to do that.
- Please link directly to your post, not your blog's homepage.
- Please include a link in your post to Homeschool Coffee Break - you may use the graphic above if you wish.
- Visit a couple of the other bloggers and comment or share.

What a shame that you can't post the video here without it getting lifted! I'd like to see it!
Looks like a good week!
did you ever get that mess of theft straightened out? Horrible when people are thieves. Write your own material! :) How lovely for Kennady to have that opportunity, she must be a bit excited.
Ooh! I can't wait to see/hear about transcripts made easy! That sounds like something I need.
Weddings are always fun!
Such an honor to be asked to perform at a friends wedding!
