Welcome to Homeschool Highlights!
This weekly link-up is your opportunity to share some highlights of what is happening in your homeschool and in your world each week. If you write a wrap-up post at the end of each week, like I've been doing, we'd love to see what you're busy with from week to week. If you'd like to pick a favorite post from your week that spotlights a resource or activity in your homeschool that you'd like to tell others about, we're interested in those too. I'm keeping the guidelines as simple as I can, and they will appear at the bottom of each post, along with the link tool. I look forward to getting to know you, and I hope this will be a source of encouragement and good ideas for all of us.

Grab a cup of coffee and let's get started!

I'm sticking with my Calgary Flames coffee mug - did you see they won their first playoff game yesterday?

Homeschool news  . . . This wasn't the most exciting week, in homeschooling or other news, but we did get stuff done as the title indicates! We're very close to the end of co-op, so Kennady seems pretty motivated to get each week's homework done as soon as possible. After a couple of French tests with less than perfect scores, she aced this week's test, so that felt good. We have next Thursday off from co-op, but she didn't get any extra homework in French, US History, or Business. She'll have two scenes for Writing class, but that shouldn't be a problem.

Yesterday's co-op classes were a mixed bag for her. She really wasn't feeling well, but her Business class went out for lunch, so she powered through that. Enjoyed the class and the outing with her friends, but didn't eat much. We had some fun in History class in the afternoon reviewing the unit with an impromptu game of "Who Wants to be a History Major?" (based on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?). They play the game show music on their phone, and their favorite part of this kind of review is using the lifeline to call friends for 'help' with the answers.

Other news . . . I don't have much to report here, because it was a low-key weekend and for the most part the week was the same. On Saturday we got some springtime yard work looked after, but Landon was still sick, so no work completed on my porch.

On Wednesday, Kennady and I met with the three other grads that are forming the worship team that will lead a couple of songs at the ceremony. We had our initial look at the church building to start thinking about how we'll set up, and they ran through four songs and were able to narrow it down to the two we'll use at the ceremony.  Every time we get a task like this checked off the list, we realize that graduation day is coming up quickly!

We're still enjoying some lovely spring weather!

What's New . . . On my book blog, I reviewed this NIV Artisan Collection Bible and then I gave it to Kennady. I chose it because I thought it would be perfect for her, with its music themed artwork, and she seemed happy with it. Isn't it beautiful?

On my blogs last week . . .

Just A Second is where I share book reviews and other book-related things, and update on what's on my bookshelf. This week I finished and reviewed The Golden Bride (Daughters of the Mayflower) by Kimberley Woodhouse, and I've been reading:

Shadow among Sheaves by Naomi Stephens
A Dangerous Collaboration (A Veronica Speedwell Mystery) by Deanna Raybourn

A parting shot . . . went out one morning to find this feral cat guarding our very classy woodpile setup. I don't know why we still have this truck, other than to keep some wood off the ground. Sometimes you just need to realize you're hillbilly and own it.
